Client Introduction
FIA specializes in custom automotive seat covers and accessories and knows more than a thing or two about creating the right fit. When they recognized their website wasn’t fitting quite as well as it should, they turned to Mars Hill to make it fit right.

The Challenge

Fia’s website was not generating online sales but updating the site was also difficult as their product line changed continually and they needed the ability to manage it without help from IT resources. In addition, the site design was not in line with their brand and did not reflect their position as a market leader.  Our goal was to redevelop the site to properly reflect FIA’s style and brand and to do so in a manner such that it would rank high in search engines and convert the new traffic to sales.  In addition, the site needed to be able to provide data and shopping options to a network of hundreds of dealers in order to allow online shopping through the dealers’ own websites using the Fia engine.

The Solution
We developed a new interactive website using Web 2.0 technology that presented Fia products in a showcase-like format. In addition to developing the new platform, we built an advanced product search function that allowed users to select their vehicle (by picture or text) and see product availability and accessories. Our design reflected the European design and fashion element of Fia products that more accurately characterized the brand and provided a customer experience that made shopping and finding accessory options easy.

The Result
Within the first three months of the launch, traffic was up, sales were up and the Fia online experience was a winner. The test market function has enabled Fia to streamline product development costs, and users have provided extremely positive feedback on its look, feel and ease-of-use.
